Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi lock horns for a place in the PSL final
The Qualifier 2 game of Pakistan Super League 2018 will see reigning champions Peshawar Zalmi compete against Karachi Kings to seal their spot in the finals. Peshawar Zalmi came out on top in a nail-biting contest against Quetta Gladiators in the Eliminator game. Darren Sammy and co. would need to do better to beat Karachi Kings in this knockout game.
The Qualifier 2 game of PSL 2018 will be played on 21st March at 9 pm at Gaddafi Cricket Stadium, Lahore and you can see all the action on our Android App (Link provided at the end of the Article).
For Karachi Kings, it will be an opportunity to make amends for their mistakes made in the previous game against Islamabad United. The big issue for Kings will be the availability of their captain Imad Wasim. The all-rounder suffered a head concussion and missed last four matches of the competition. Kings will be hoping he is fit and available for the side.
Joe Denly played well in the last game and scored a half-century to see Kings post a decent total on the board. The aggressive opener has scored 244 runs in 10 games with 2 half-centuries to his name. He will definitely be keen to get Karachi off to a good start.

Colin Ingram looked in scintillating form in the last game. He played sensibly in the early part of his innings and went berserk at the end to produce an unbeaten 68 runs for the side. The left-handed might move to the no.4 position in the batting order as Eoin Morgan is not included in the squad.
Shahid Afridi might captain the side in this game as all-rounder will be keen to do something special with bat and ball. The 38-year old has discovered his mojo with the ball but has been a big disappointment with the bat.
Lendl Simmons will come in place of Eoin Morgan for this game. The West Indian has played done well for the side in the two games played in the competition.
Mohammad Rizwan has done well for the Kings as first-choice wicket-keeper. Left-arm quick bowler Usman Khan Shinwari has been the standout bowler for the franchise in this PSL season. He has taken 15 wickets in 9 matches with best of 4 for 17 against Islamabad United.
Mohammad Amir has looked subdued so far with the ball but could be a key player in this big game. Mohammad Irfan Jnr and Tymal Mills have done well as backup bowlers for the side.
Peshawar Zalmi seems to be the in-form side after beating Quetta Gladiators by one run in the Eliminator game played last night.
Kamran Akmal has been a star for Zalmi in the batting department. The wicket-keeper batsman has scored 347 runs in 10 matches with one century to his name. Akmal is a dangerous player and can singlehandedly win games of cricket for Peshawar as witnessed in the last round-robin games of PSL.
Tamim Iqbal played well in the last game after being slotted into the side. The left-handed batsman is a proven match-winner in the T20 format. Andre Fletcher needs to produce runs with the bat coming in at no.3 in the batting order.
Mohammad Hafeez has done well for Peshawar Zalmi this season and scored 277 runs from 10 matches. He has scored two half-centuries in the competition and would certainly hold the key in the middle order for Peshawar Zalmi.

Liam Dawson turned out to be an unlikely hero with the bat and produced 62 runs in the Eliminator game played against Quetta Gladiators last night. Dawson bowling was poor on the night and could have cost his side the game as he conceded 23 runs in the final over of the innings.
Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz were superb in the last game and would be keen to do the same against Karachi Kings. Umaid Asif also chipped in with crucial wickets for the side while Sameen Gul turned the tide in favor of Peshawar by dismissing Mohammad Nawaz and Sarfaraz Ahmed in quick succession.
Both sides won one game apiece in the round-robin stage of the competition. Peshawar Zalmi will be keen to seal their place in the finals. Karachi Kings will try to produce their best to upstage defending champions Peshawar Zalmi.
