Kings face an uphill task in the Qualifier 2 game against Peshawar in the absence of Shahid Afridi.

Karachi Kings have suffered a big setback ahead of the knockout clash against Peshawar Zalmi as all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been ruled out of the game due to a knee injury. Zalmi will start as firm favorites for the game after coming out on top in a thriller against Quetta Gladiators last night.

Peshawar Zalmi had to work hard for their victory against Quetta Gladiators who went into the game without main players in Shane Watson and Kevin Pietersen. Karachi Kings were comprehensively beaten in the last game against Islamabad United but will have to drastically improve their game to upstage reigning champions Peshawar. Shahid Afridi also announced his unavailability for the game against Peshawar Zalmi

Zulfiqar Babar, Danish Aziz and Mukhtar Ahmed have been included in the squad by Karachi Kings. The franchise already has their captain Imad Wasim sidelined due to a head injury. Eoin Morgan was stand-in captain for the side but refused to travel to Pakistan for PSL playoffs. Shahid Afridi’s injury will definitely put Karachi Kings on the back foot as he brings a lot of value to the side in terms of bat and ball.

Imad Wasim might not play this game even after being cleared by the medical staff. He was advised to take three weeks rest after a head concussion. It will be interesting to see Karachi Kings copes with the loss of big players ahead of their big clash against Peshawar Zalmi.

The winner of this game will set up a final clash against Islamabad United on 25th March in Karachi. Cricket fans will be hoping for a close contest as witnessed last night between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators played at Gadaffi Stadium, Lahore.
