Sunil Narine was reported for suspect action while playing for Lahore Qalandars in a game against Quetta Gladiators.
West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine has been reported for illegal bowling action during the third edition of Pakistan Super League while playing for Lahore Qalandars. Narine has been an integral part of Lahore Qalandars side since the inaugural season.
The off-spinner has been issued a warning and will be closely monitored from now on as he can still bowl in the competition. Pakistan Super League does comply with International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations with regards to illegal bowling action. The rule clearly states that if a bowler is on a warning list and reported for suspect action, he will not be allowed to bowl in the competition thereafter.
The officials for the game will also send their report to West Indies Cricket Board for further proceedings. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Narine has been reported for illegal bowling action during the game against Quetta Gladiators at Sharjah. The report has been forwarded to West Indies Cricket Board who will carry out their own procedures with regards to the ruling.
Sunil Narine has been banned from bowling at the international level in November 2015 after being reported for illegal bowling action in a one-day series against Sri Lanka. In no time, ICC cleared him to play cricket just before the start of Indian Premier League 2016.
The off-spinner has also been reported for illegal bowling action on two previous instances in 2014 but was given a reprieve after being issued a warning.
