Islamabad United have lost their key players in Rumman Raees and Andre Russell due to injuries.
Islamabad United’s premier bowler Rumman Raees has been ruled out of the remaining games of 2018 Pakistan Super League due to a knee injury. United’s vice-captain picked up the injury in a game played against Quetta Gladiators.
The pacer will return to Pakistan in order to undergo rehabilitation process on the injury suffered during the PSL 2018. Rumman Raees sustained the injury while fielding at long-on in a game played against Quetta Gladiators. The pace bowler made a dive in order to prevent a certain boundary but awkwardly jammed his knee into the ground. He was taken off on a stretcher from the field.

Islamabad United Head Coach, Dean Jones said that the franchise is hopeful that he can play some part in the competition. Jones stated that Raees is dedicated cricketer and brings a lot to the franchise with the ball.
United team Physio, Errol Alcott said that the pacer will have to consult a knee specialist on the extent of the injury suffered during the game. He said that the pacer’s condition has improved but he has a long way to go to get back to full fitness. Islamabad United have done pretty well in his absence as they topped the points table and qualified for playoffs of the competition. It is yet another blow to PSL after Andre Russell being sidelined from the competition due to injury.
The third edition of Pakistan Super League has seen a lot of injuries with Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Darren Sammy and Jofra Archer missing games for their respective franchises in the competition.
