The 20th game of 2018 Pakistan Super League will see table toppers Multan Sultans take on Lahore Qalandars at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Sultans made a lot of mistakes in their last game against Quetta to concede their second defeat of the season. Lahore Qalandars are coming into the game on the back of six-game losing streak.

The 20th game of PSL 2018 will be played on 9th March (Friday) at 4:30 pm at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and you can see all the action on our Android App (Link provided at the end of the Article).

Kumar Sangakkara has been phenomenal for Multan Sultans in this season of PSL. The left-handed batsman has accumulated over 200 runs in 7 games with three half-centuries to his name. Ahmed Shehzad will need to put his hand in this game after registering low score against Quetta Gladiators.

Sohaib Maqsood has been decent for Multan Sultans coming in at no.3 in the batting order. He has played a match-winning knock against Peshawar at the very same ground. He is exceptional talent but needs to consistently produce big scores in order to earn a call to the national side. Multan Sultans Captain Shoaib Malik played a special knock against Quetta but the fielding let the side down as it cost them the game.

Head Coach Tom Moody will be keen to address the issue to make sure the side trains hard in terms of fielding to avoid blunders in the upcoming fixtures of PSL. Umar Gul produced a sensational spell of bowling to finish with six wickets in the game. Mohammad Irfan and Imran Tahir produced tidy spells while Sohail Tanvir was erratic in the game against Quetta.

On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars will need to make wholesale changes as the combination is not producing results for the side. The bowling looks weak and lacks penetration as Islamabad United beat the side in the last game.

In the inclusion of Anton Devcich was a good move by Lahore as New Zealand batsman scored 62 runs in 42 balls to help Lahore post a decent total on the board. Fakhar Zaman also made quick-fire 34 runs to see Lahore Qalandars get off to a good start.

The middle order is a big worry for the side as Dinesh Ramdin, Sohail Akther or Agha Salman failed to consistently produce a score in this year’s competition. Brendon McCullum has been fairly consistent in terms of run-scoring for the side but others need to chip in with contributions to help the franchise end their winless streak.

Mitchell McClenaghan or Kyle Abbott might play next game as Aamir Yamin, Sohail Khan and Salman Irshad have failed to impress with the ball in hand. Yasir Shah has been economical in the competition so far while Narine also picked up three wickets against Islamabad.
