Lahore Qalandars suffered a setback of sorts before the start of 2018 Pakistan Super League. Their most expensive acquisition in Chris Lynn was ruled out of the competition due to a dislocated shoulder. The right-handed batsman suffered a shoulder injury during the final of tri-nation T20 series against rivals New Zealand at Eden Park.

Chris Lynn was dejected after suffering from an injury and stated his disappointment of not playing Pakistan Super League this year. Lahore Qalandars are currently reeling at the bottom of the table with three defeats in a row. Former South African pacer Kyle Abbott has been named as a replacement for Chris Lynn by Lahore Qalandars.

Lahore Qalandars strategy seems to have backfired as all their batsmen in the squad are attacking ones. The lack of experience has been evident as Lahore Qalandars have suffered from batting implosions in the first three games of 2018 Pakistan Super League.

Kyle Abbott has played for South Africa for a long time and played 11 Tests, 21 T20s, and 22 One-Day Internationals. The right-arm pacer has been impressive with his stint in English County Championship and will provide potency with the new-ball for Lahore Qalandars.

\The decision to pick Kyle Abbott was also made due to Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman absence from the second half of the competition. The left-arm quick is set to join Bangladesh squad for the upcoming weeks so Abbott brings that stability to the bowling lineup.
