Kumar Sangakkara was dismissed early in the innings as Islamabad United took firm control of the game. Chadwick Walton played well and scored 28 runs off 23 balls to keep United in the hunt in the chase. For Islamabad, Hussain Talat turned out to be an unlikely hero with the bat. The left-handed batsman smashed 48 runs in just 34 balls to steer Islamabad United to their first win of the competition.
