Karachi Kings have made an ideal start to the season by winning their first game against Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League 2018. The side led by Imad Wasim will be keen to build on their start and produce another good performance when they come up against Peshawar Zalmi in the 7th game of PSL to be played on Sunday.

Reigning champions Peshawar Zalmi quickly brushed off their disappointments in the opening game against Multan and came up with a clinical performance against Islamabad United to get their first win of the competition.

Karachi Kings produced a good display with the bat against Quetta Gladiators. Opener Khurram Manzoor got the side off to a decent start and laid the platform for the others to play their game with freedom. Babar Azam had a rare failure in the first game and would be keen to make a strong comeback in this game.

Colin Ingram was star batsman for the side with his quick-fire 41 runs while Ravi Bopara produced crucial runs at the end. Kings have Shahid Afridi and Imad Wasim who can strike the big blows at the end of the innings. Afridi is always going to be a dangerous player if he gets going with the bat.

On the bowling side, Mohammad Amir and Tymal Mills produced tidy spells upfront for Kings. New Captain Imad Wasim led the way with the bat as he chipped with two wickets against Quetta. Shahid Afridi got important breakthrough of Sarfaraz Ahmed and would to continue his good form with the ball in hand.

Peshawar Zalmi looked a different side against Islamabad United as Kamran Akmal and Tamim Iqbal delivered the goods with the bat. Dwayne Smith and Mohammad Hafeez are experienced T20 players who have played in various leagues around the world.

The duo chipped with crucial runs for Zalmi to see them post 176 runs on the board. Captain Darren Sammy and Haris Sohail are good players and will need to raise their game in the competition.

On the bowling front, it was a big surprise as youngsters like Umaid Asif and Ibtisam Sheikh did the damage with the ball. Asif took four wickets in his first game for Peshawar Zalmi while Wahab Riaz and Chris Jordan kept things under control.

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar did a decent job in the game against Islamabad United despite taking no wickets. Peshawar Zalmi does have bowling arsenal at their disposal to rattle Multan Sultans with Riaz and Jordan in their ranks.
