The second game of the Pakistan Super League 2018 will see two-time runners-up Quetta Gladiators take on Karachi Kings at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Karachi Kings has failed to live up to the expectations of their fans since the inaugural season. They fared much better in the second edition but could not make it to the playoffs of the competition. All-rounder Imad Wasim will lead Karachi Kings for the contest. The big positive for Kings is the arrival of Pakistan’s T20 Superstar Shahid Afridi in their setup.
The legendary all-rounder was picked by Karachi Kings for the coming season. The batting department will heavily depend on the likes of Ravi Bopara, Babar Azam, and Colin Ingram. Eoin Morgan is set to skip initial part of the competition due to international duties for England.
Karachi Kings have suffered a setback of sorts with Luke Wright and Mitchell Johnson being unavailable for the competition due to various reasons. Joe Denly and Tymal Mills were replacements picked by Karachi Kings for Pakistan Super League 2018.
On the bowling front, Mohammad Amir is the premier bowler for the side and would be keen to make early inroads with the new-ball. Tymal Mills and Usman Khan are also expected to start the game for the side.
Two-time runners-up Quetta Gladiators will be focused to get off to aa good start in the competition. Rilee Rossouw, Kevin Pietersen, and Jason Roy will hold the key to the franchise’s fortunes for this season. Mahmudullah Riyad is a top-quality player who has given credible performances with the bat. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has always strived to select the best possible XI for the game and will rally his troops to go one better this time around.
Quetta Gladiators are unbeaten in the all previous games played against Karachi Kings and would be determined to register their fifth victory on Friday.
