Reigning Champions will aim to successfully defend their title in the upcoming season.
Peshawar Zalmi will be confident of doing well this season after lifting their maiden crown last year against Quetta Gladiators in Gaddafi Cricket Ground, Lahore. Darren Sammy will lead the side in the competition. Mohammad Hafeez was named vice-captain of the side for the upcoming PSL season.
Wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal was the star of the show with the bat in the previous edition of PSL. The experienced batsman produced big runs in knockout games to see Zalmi lift their maiden crown in the finals. Andre Fletcher and Evin Lewis will bolster batting resources as West Indies duo have ample experience in the format and would be keen to do well in the upcoming season of PSL.
Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal have been a consistent performer for the side since last two seasons. Peshawar Zalmi will hope that the experienced players do well this season as well. Mohammad Hafeez, Haris Sohail, and Dwayne Bravo will certainly make up the middle order. Hafeez will certainly be one player to look out for as he will be keen to do well in the series. Sohail might also be in action as left-handed has been playing for the national side since the last couple of months.
Dwayne Bravo and Darren Sammy are two genuine all-rounders who can provide the utility with bat and ball. Sammy had a poor run with bat and ball last season and would be keen to rediscover form in the upcoming season. Hammad Azam also is in the squad as might one or two games for Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming season.
On the bowling front, Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz will certainly be the new-ball pair for the side for the upcoming PSL. Hasan might miss some initial games due to injury while Chris Jordan, Mohammad Asghar are handy bowlers in the middle overs for Peshawar Zalmi.
