Two-time finalist aims to end their trophy drought this season.
Quetta Gladiators have played exceptional cricket in the first two editions of Pakistan Super League. The side has agonizingly fallen short of winning crown after brushing aside comfortably by Islamabad United in the inaugural season. The second season saw their key players opted not to play the final in Lahore which helped Peshawar Zalmi lift their maiden crown against a depleted lineup.
Gladiators Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will be focused to make sure that they cover all the bases for the coming season to win the title this season. Quetta Gladiators has quality players in their ranks in the batting department as Rilee Rossouw and Kevin Pietersen played well last season. The onus will be on the top 3 to get Gladiators off to good starts in the competition. This may well last hurrah for Kevin Pietersen, who would be keen to end the competition with silverware.
Jason Roy was picked up during PSL draft and would be keen to do well in the coming season despite having poor run with Lahore Qalandars last season. Roy has been in scintillating form this season and would be keen to this season. West Indies-born Jofra Archer has been picked as a replacement for Carlos Brathwaite after all-rounder pulled out of the competition due to international duties.
On the bowling front, the side has opted to pick Rashid Khan for the coming season. Afghanistan-born leg-spinner has been excellent and made a reputable name while playing in different leagues around the world. Rahat Ali, Anwar Ali, Mir Hamza and Mohammad Nawaz are bowling options for the side. Shane Watson will also provide some overs with the ball in hand.
The side’s strength lays in their batting while their need to pick their best bowling lineup to lift their maiden crown this season.
