New-look Karachi side will be keen to spring a surprise in the Pakistan Super League 2018.

Karachi Kings will enter the season with renewed vigor under the new leadership of all-rounder Imad Wasim. The franchise has seen wholesale changes in the setup since the last edition. There is no sign of Shoaib Malik, Chris Gayle and Kumar Sangakkara in the side after the franchise opted to go for the in-form player rather reputable names. Certainly, they picked the likes of Colin Munro, Colin Ingram in the PSL draft. The side has accomplished T20 players in their ranks such as Shahid Afridi, Ravi Bopara, Babar Azam and Tymal Mills.

Imad Wasim has been appointed as the captain of the side as the all-rounder will be keen to do well in the upcoming season. Wasim produced exceptional performances for Kings in the last edition and was nominated as the new leader for the side. Joe Denly and Tymal Mills were selected in PSL replacement draft as Colin Munro and Eoin Morgan will not be available for some of the games played in the competition.

The strategy for Kings looked clear as they opted to bolster their resources on the batting front. The side’s bowling has done well but batting has been their main weakness in the two previous editions. Karachi Kings will aim for a better performance in the upcoming season of Pakistan Super League.

On the bowling front, Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim are experienced bowlers who have done well for the side. Usama Mir is a promising leg-spinner who did well with the ball in the previous edition of Pakistan Super League. Shahid Afridi, David Wiese, and Ravi Bopara are three all-rounders in the squad that will offer depth and balance to the side in terms of bat and ball.

Head Coach Mickey Arthur will hope that the franchise can start the competition on a positive note and produce better results in the upcoming season of PSL. Karachi fans will be praying that their side can go all the way in the competition as grand finale will be played in Karachi on 25th March.
