England pace bowler Tymal Mills has been picked by Karachi Kings for Pakistan Super League 2018 in the replacement draft held at Lahore. Kings have made three changes to their squad as Luke Wright and Mitchell Johnson pulled out of the competition due to personal reasons.
Wright was selected by Karachi Kings during the Pakistan Super League 2018 draft that happened in Nov in Lahore. England all-rounder had suffered a concussion while playing in this year’s Big Bash League. Wright could continue playing as he withdrew from the competition due to an injury scare suffered during the game. Joe Denly has been named a replacement for Wright by Kings while Mitchell Johnson got replaced by Tymal Mills.
Johnson pulled out of the upcoming edition of Pakistan Super League citing personal reasons. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators chose Jofra Archer as a replacement for Carlos Brathwaite for the coming season. Brathwaite opted to skip the competition after being included in West Indies Limited-overs squad for World Cup Qualifiers.
Lahore Qalandars also selected New Zealand Anton Devcich as a probable replacement for Sri Lankan all-rounder Angelo Matthews who has been plagued with various injuries over the past one year.
The replacement picked by various franchises will only make limited appearances for the side for Pakistan Super League 2018 due to a press release issued by Pakistan Cricket Board. Reigning Champions Peshawar Zalmi signed West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith as an ideal replacement for Dwayne Bravo, while Liam Dawson is set to replace Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal, who will not be available due to his international commitments with the national side.
Multan Sultans also picked Afghanistan spinner Zahir Khan as a replacement for West Indies keeper Nicholas Pooran for the initial stages of the competition. Pooran will be available for Sultans once domestic limited-overs competition in West Indies is concluded. The upcoming third edition of Pakistan Super League is all set to start from 22nd Feb.
