Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017-18 saw plenty of great individual performances ranging from Chris Gayle blitz in the finals to Hasan Ali probing spell with the ball. The Pakistan quartet performed well in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League as Hasan Ali, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Junaid Khan delivered superlative performances in the competition. Pakistani players have made their mark in different global leagues played around the world such as Big Bash League (BBL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Indian Premier League (IPL).
We will now look at the top-notch performances by Pakistani players produced in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League.
Shahid Afridi – Dhaka Dynamites vs Sylhet Sixers
Former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi once again delivered with the bat and ball to prove a point to his critics who feel that is not fit to play T20 leagues. Afridi playing for Dhaka Dynamites produced brisk 17-ball 37 runs and took four wickets to help the side overcome Sylhet Sixers in the game played in round-robin stages of Bangladesh Premier League.
Hasan Ali – Comilla Victorians vs Dhaka Dynamites
Pakistan’s newest bowling sensation Hasan Ali produced a mesmerizing spell of bowling against Dhaka Dynamites to end with 5 wickets to his name. Hasan has been red-hot form in the shorter formats of the game and once again showed that he is one bowler to look out for in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
Shoaib Malik – Comilla Victorians vs Dhaka Dynamites
Shoaib Malik produced a match-winning performance with the bat to steer his side to victory over reigning champions Dhaka Dynamites. Malik led the way with the bat for Comilla Victorians after Hasan Ali’s impressive spell saw the side restrict Dhaka to just 128 runs from their full quota of overs in a game played in Bangladesh Premier League.
Shahid Afridi- Dhaka Dynamites vs Rajshahi Kings
The former legendary all-rounder showed his class as he bagged four wickets against Kings in a game played in the Bangladesh Premier League.
Junaid Khan- Khulna Titans vs Rajshahi Kings
Left-arm pacer Junaid Khan has been exceptional bowler since making his debut for Pakistan. Junaid came back into the side in ICC Champions Trophy and since then has done tremendously well to form new-ball pair with Mohammad Amir. He also produced an exceptional performance to end with 4 wickets in the game played against Rajshahi Kings.
Mohammad Sami – Rajshahi Kings vs Comilla Victorians
The veteran fast bowler still showed that he can produce great bowling performance in the T20 format. Sami produced a miser spell of bowling to end with four wickets and conceded only nine runs to see his side successfully defend a modest total on the board.
Shahid Afridi- Dhaka Dynamites vs Comilla Victorians
Afridi delivered a top-notch performance with bat and ball to see Dhaka overcome Comilla in the Qualifier 1 game played in Bangladesh Premier League. The all-rounder produced a brisk 30 runs that included four sixes and then followed it up with three wickets in his four-over spell to see Dhaka secure their place in the finals.
Pakistan’s premier limited overs batsman Babar Azam is also another notable mention as he did well in the Bangladesh Premier League this season.
