The PSL squads for all the six franchises for the coming third of Pakistan Super League have been finalized after the player’s Draft held on 12th November. Lahore Qalandars was on the charge in terms of putting money on the best players available as they contain 19-member squad for the upcoming edition.
Almost 500 players were available to be picked by various franchises to bolster their PSL squads for the next year’s competition. Each of the six franchises had retained nine players from their squad who played the last edition of Pakistan Super League. The teams have the option to pick one player from Platinum, Diamond and Gold Category while selecting two players from Silver and Emerging Category.
The league has been touted as changing cricketing fortunes for Pakistan as a number of players in the league have made their mark in the national setup this year. The likes of Hasan Ali, Fakhar Zaman, and Shadab Khan were instrumental in Pakistan lifting their maiden ICC Champions Trophy title against India at the Oval.
Below is the list of final PSL squads for each franchise for the coming season to be played in 2018.
Lahore Qalandars
The side produced some timid batting performance so they opted to go for a player who can turn things around for them in the coming edition. Lahore picked Australian Chris Lynn who has made quite a name for himself around the world in the T20 format. The other valuable selection was picking Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman for the next year’s competition. Bilal Asif also got picked in the gold category while Angelo Matthews and Mitchell McClenaghan have added in the Supplementary category.

Peshawar Zalmi
The reigning champions also bought some exciting players for the coming season. Zalmi picked West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for the coming season. Tamim Iqbal was picked in the Diamond Category while promising T20 players like Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher are in the supplementary category. Sameen Gul and Ibtisam Sheikh are emerging players included in Zalmi squad for the third edition of PSL.

Karachi Kings
Kings made considerable strides in a bid to change their fortunes for the next edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). South Africa’s Colin Ingram and Mitchell Johnson were picked in the player’s Draft organized by Pakistan Cricket Board. Luke Wright also was picked in the Gold category while Colin Munro and Eoin Morgan are placed in the supplementary category for the next year’s competition. Hassan Mohsin and Mohammad Irfan Junior are emerging players included in the Kings squad for next season.

Multan Sultans
The newest franchise added to the competition will certainly try to make their mark in the coming edition. Imran Tahir, Ahmed Shehzad, and Darren Bravo were their best picks for the third edition that will be played in 2018. Nicholas Pooran, Hardus Viljoen, and Ross Whiteley are added to the setup. The emerging players for Multan Sultans are Abdullah Shafiq and Saif Babar.

Quetta Gladiators
The two-time runners-up in the league will be led by Sarfraz Ahmed for the coming season. Gladiators made some expressive move as they bought Australian all-rounder Shane Watson in Platinum Category. West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite was picked in Diamond Category while Jason Roy and Rashid Khan are included in the supplementary category. Hasan Khan and Saud Shakeel are picked as emerging players in the squad by Quetta Gladiators

Islamabad United
Islamabad United have made some interesting buys for the coming edition as Jean-Paul Duminy and Luke Ronchi were picked by the franchise in the Player’s Draft. Alex Hales, David Willey are players included in the supplementary squad for the coming season. Hussain Talat and Sahibzada Farhan are emerging players picked by the franchise for the coming season.
